Topic: Ladybird?

I'm not sure if this is a ladybird... super colours. I couldn't capture them all. Reminds me a wee' bit like a scarab beetle.
I really had a hard time getting the wee' spider (3/4mm in size), the wind was blowing a fair bit.

Re: Ladybird?

Might be a Green Mint Beetle (Chrysolina herbacea) or family, no ladybird. No idea about the spider.
Nice pictures!

A search of the net for the 'green mint beetle' gave a link to a 'blue mint beetle', I think it's definitely one or the other.
Thank you Minolfan.

Re: Ladybird?

The beetle is a Chrysolina but I think it is C. fatuosa the Dead-nettle Leaf Beetle, which is sometimes mostly green.

The spider is a male Cucumber spider. Even in the latest book (2017) the authors can't tell from the photo whether theirs is Araniella cucurbitana or opisthographa.

Even more like it Harold, I'll take your word about the spider, looks very similar.
Thank you
