Just trying to grow their user base, I imagine, with the hope that they will buy future upgrades, etc.

Thank you Graham, I already got my code also.
Are you a Capture One user? Do you know how does it compare to Lightroom 3?

I have ordered a new Leaf digital back, so I will be using C1 with that back (it comes with the package). I also just bought a Canon 5D so I've decided to use C1 with both new cameras, to simplify workflow.

C1 is generally similar to LR3 but I prefer the LR3 layout, and not all the controls are in both programs. For example, I really like the LR3 control which allows you to set a bounding box for exported JPEGS (e.g. 800x800 pixels). That doesn't seem to exist in C1.

Thanks for the link Graham. I signed up for it too. wink

I put that adapter in a safe place, never to be seen again.

Perhaps, because it's the non-Pro version with restricted features and an upgrade is rather expensive.
But it might be a way to win future customers.

Still, it's a great offer!

Mostly in my bag ATM: Fuji X-T1, X-E2, X-E1, Leica M8, Nikon1 V1 and several lenses...
Things ON SALE!

Re: Get a free (legal) copy of Capture One

Thanks Graham. I am curious, is there any problem to use LR3 to process the images from the Leaf back? It seems to me from your comment that you like it more.

My Leaf back has not arrived yet, but I expect I will end up using Capture One because Phase One now owns Leaf and I expect they optimised the profiles in C1 to give optimum results. I will be comparing carefully, however, as I enjoy the workflow of LR3.

Well, would it be considered unfair to ask someone here for the answer to the "effect being taught on page 67" ? The magazine is not available where i live ...
