Topic: contax c/y lenses to pentax body !

I was very surprised and interested in this found on a Hong-Kong forum: http://forum.contax-club.org/viewtopic.php?t=12815 :
A guy called rhyl managed to modify his pentax dslr to take contax lenses, without adaptation ring, with infinity focus, and even confirmation of focus ! And it still takes pentax lenses without problem.
I'd try it right now if I had a k10d.
I'll be waiting for a FF pentax...

To Jack : yes, I forgot the stabilization, it's a great plus !

Thanks for the link, Carpents, I didn't know it was possible to change the c/y mount to M42. But I still have a contax body that I like, so I'll stay with the c/y mount, and I'll practice dslr surgery on any cheap old pentax slr before I'll do it on a k10d (tempting...) or a future full frame k1d (even more tempting but means patience).

Beside, I think it's more logical to modify a dslr (wich you'll change in a few years anyway) than the long lasting well built cz lenses, isn't it ?

Well the lens modification is more tempting to me as it looks fully reversible unlike the DSLR mod, right? But finding a supply of donor m42 mounts might be a problem. I'd hate to use a working lens.

yes, the dslr mod seems irreversible, but once modified, it still works with pentax lenses, so no trade-off !

I know, I know. Just hate to kill something. I just realized though a I have a supply of free teleconvertors so maybe I'd start there smile.
