Topic: Kiron 105: Hedychium densiflorum Assam Orange: a Hardy Ginger

Hedychium has many species and hybrids with exotic colours and are often highly-scented. This one is less colourful than many and is not scented but it is hardy. I have tried to post shots which show its morphology as an inflorescence and with some detail of individual flowers.

Unusually, all my images here are daylight exposures, most in sun, the last one in bright overcast. Shutters speeds varied from 1/80 to 1/500 at ISO 800. The stereo is crosseye.

EM-1 (aperture priority), Kiron 105mm, f11 or 16, hand-held.

Harold

Thanks, Jim.

I had a mountain of rejects. Even so, one the stereo pair has clipped the apical flower bud.
