Topic: Olympus F-ZUIKO AUTO-S 1:1.8/50mm on EOS 600D

Today we spend a couple of hours in Regensburg. I used a walk thru the city to catch some pictures with this lens beyond the touristic highlights. Dull wheater.
The most images are taken with the lens wide open, 1600 ISO, B&W in camera process.

The Canon/Olympus combination is pretty compact, the little Olympus is just a dream. Everything goes smooth, the optical performance is quite impressive.

There are many webistes available which are dealing only with that famous lens, e.g. http://olypedia.de/Zuiko_Auto-S_1:1%2C8/50_mm, pointing out which versions are more recommended, which not.
The copy I have is with the so called silver nose, but without MC.

Hanoi... I've had a look at your link... 'Mein Deutsch ist schrecklich'... how do I tell if my one is any good or not?

It would help if I gave some information... OLYMPUS OM-SYSTEM ZUIKO MC AUTO-S 1:1,8 f=50mm Japan. I see my lens displayed on the Canon 50D at the site??
Thanks
Jim

Maybe I had better posted this link: https://www.imaging-resource.com/lenses … ko/review/ which is in Englisch and has the information you want.
As far as I know you have the best one, due to the Made in Japan in combination with the MC for Multi coated.
On the website I posted first is a link embedded to this site: http://ompl.org/lens,standard,24. I used Google translator to translate it into German and understand that all ZUIKOs 1.8/50 are excellent, no matter where or when it has been build.

The other 50mm lenses on the German website inlcuding the Canons are for comparison pourpose only. No idea why ...

Thank you, Peter.

Apart from the 4th image from the top, which was slightly over exposed and thus I had to correct it by using the RAW image, I used the camera gray converter. The image you mentioned is just the jpg from the camera, I only loaded it up and posted it.
You know, using a 75mm lens in a town is always a challenge. Sometimes it works.

Brian, thank you.

To be honest, there have been your images taken by this lens that have inspired me to try this lens; I didn't regret it for a minute. In comparison with the 50mm Planar I have, this lense is just half the size.
