Topic: Carl Zeiss 35~135mm Jenazoom

I bought this lens knowing it was in a terrible state... every piece of glass looked as though it was completely covered in fungus... I had a pleasant surprise when I stripped it down... it was dirt. I think the lens had fallen into water at some stage, anyway, with the experience I obtained from you experts it's been restored to live another day... cool

Wee' update on my canon 40D... I received the SI plate from the USA & fitted along with a new focus lens    wink

Re: Carl Zeiss 35~135mm Jenazoom

Sunny day so I made it to bottom of the garden where I spied a young buck... it was way across the river so really didn't expect much with a hand held shot & 135mm?
It did better than allright don't you think?
I used the nex so I think it's important to include the creative style as the sharpness is quit effective in comparison to my canon 40D which in my opinion is poor... I refer to the camera image enhancing software.
Standard,    contrast -1    saturation +1   sharpness +2.
ISO 100   1/250sec  f8

This copy looks perfectly clean.

Did you clean the lense? Is this possible?

Yes... quite easy, access to most glass is from the front. The only piece I didn't remove was the element next to the aperture...  I worried replacing it might prove a nightmare? I have a toothbrush with the brush cut off that I use for jobs like this... rubber sleeve glued to the end wrapped with a strips of lens cleaning cloth, works a treat.

Wow, that is pretty impressive.

And the results speak for themselves!
