Topic: Mirrorless or shutterless ?

Hi there,

I am using mainly APS-C DSLR, and have no interest in mirrorless at the moment, but interested to know why, all mirrorless models I've seen so far, have their sensors fully exposed when the lens is unmounted. I know the shutter control on mirrorless is more complicated than on DSLR due to the liveview, but why can't the shutter closed when the lens is unmounted, to provide minimum of protection to the expensive and delicate component ?

Do you Yahoo ? No I hiccup only:P

Re: Mirrorless or shutterless ?

The shutter of mirrorless models have been designed to be open in powerless mode. That safes electric power in live-view mode.
Another point is that the sensor surface is propably more stable in respect of mechanical stress than the shutter curtain.

Just my five cents.
