Topic: Jupiter8-nb vs Summicron-R

The Jupiter8-nb  2/50 comes from a Kiev-5 : its mount is the external Contax bayonet .
The Summicron-R 2/50 comes from a Leicaflex , first model .
The camera is my Nex-3 .
I shot from my window ,  today ; here are the results

If I see correctly this test , the Jupiter looks better than the Summicron at f2 , at the same level at f8 in the center .
What do you think ?
If interested  , I can post crop in the corners....

Re: Jupiter8-nb vs Summicron-R

Yes you're right ,  so I focus  at f2  , with great care , using the x14 enlargement  of the image on the screen on fine details to be sure to be in focus . Then I shoot and verify that the recorded image is as sharp as possible . I try this way 2 or 3 times then I shoot at f2 and at f8 .  I change the adapter with the other lens and apply the same process .
Of course I may be wrong , but I have to explain why I did this test : I received yesterday the adapter for Leica R lenses . I rapidly check the Summicron and I got  excellent results  . I compared these results with other 50mm lenses that I have already tested  . They were all inferior at f2 but the Jupiter8-nb  . I wanted to test the two lenses in exactly the same conditions . This afternoon  , I did it  .
I rapidly check my Leica Elmarit  2,8/135 which looks incredibly good and the Elmarit 2,8/35 which looks so-so at 2,8 , but I am not sure yet ....
I have to precise that my 3 Leica lenses which I own since 1992 , are in perfect conditions in all aspects as is the Jupiter 8-nb .

Re: Jupiter8-nb vs Summicron-R

Shame on me ! I tested too many lenses at the same time and I mixed the results so everything above is bullshit : the great winner is the Summicron and the second one is not the Jupiter ....but this is another story : I don't want to confuse everybody ( included myself ) one more time !
   My apologies ....
