Topic: Pulled a good stunt the other day

Wandered into one of the local "thrift"  stores  and this irritating  bubbley guy  "Well,",  he sings out,  "and how are YOU doing today?"

"I don't think I HAVE  to tell ya, do I?"   says I

"Well no"  he  says

"Well I'm  doin'  OK,  a little irritated that the weather guy lied.   It was supposed to clear  a little this afternoon,  and I was hopin'  to shoot a few  Eagles."

He takes a moment to mull that over  and says  "Shoot Eagles?  I didn't  know you COULD  shoot Eagles."

(Bald eagles are protected by federal  U.S. law)

"Well,"  I says,  "I  DO use a Canon."

"CANON??!!    Isn't that a little weird?"

"Well I don't know, ya  'spect me ta use a NIKON!!??"

So I guess he finally  GOT  it.

SO  on the way  out the store,  I told  him,  "If you hear  a loud  click, it's just my Canon going off!!"

"Yesssssssss,   I guess I finally got it"   he admits.

Re: Pulled a good stunt the other day

Told one of my avid deer hunter coworkers I got 5 deer with one shot. He was floored. Then I told him I did it with a 300mm and he was even more floored. Then I emailed him the pic. I could hear him laughing 10 doors down..

Re: Pulled a good stunt the other day

Re: Pulled a good stunt the other day

I should sell the darn thing.  I cannot  really handle it anymore.

Re: Pulled a good stunt the other day

I just had a 300mm Nikon f4.5.. I'm envious of the photo sniper!

Re: Pulled a good stunt the other day

Don't be.   If you like junk to hang on your wall,  this is it.   VERY  clumsy  and heavy.   The stop down mechanism  in the lens  is very unconventional,  and   mechanically shocks  the lens  .   I bought it   because I thought it would be easy to convert and mount my  Canon.    I should have just bought a rifle stock blank and started from scratch.

Re: Pulled a good stunt the other day

I think the one in the hat is the winner.

Re: Pulled a good stunt the other day

Years ago I had a Novoflex rifle stock with pistol grip and lens, all black with Nikon mount. I shot a few images but then got nervous as it truly resembles a rifle and using it somewhere might involve some person firing back at me the photographer. I sold it with a sigh of relief. Frankly my shooting style involves normal, wide and extreme wide optics so not owning a stable of tele lenses is irrelavent. The few I use are portrait focal lengths.
