Hi all,
I have this old lens which I would like to mount on a Pentax dSLR. The problem is that I do not know what mount this is. I used a caliper and it looks that the mount has a 42mm diameter which suggests the M42 screw mount.
The lens came with a Praktica 35mm camera and it has an adapter for Praktica mount. Here is a picture of the lens with the adapter removed:
Would a M42 to K adapter work for this? Or do I need some other kind of adapter?
Thanks much.

Did not you remove too much when you took off the B-mount? The B-adapter is only a rather thin ring between M42 and the bayonet!

Sorry I do not have a picture with me: the adapter I am referring to is made of a ring and a another piece of metal (bayonet?) that couple and then fit nicely on the 42mm threaded mount. Is that the B-mount?
Tonight I will post a picture of all the elements.
>> Just searched a bit on Google: apparently the adapter I have is a B-mount adapter. The question I have for those who may know this lens: is that a M42 lens? I mean I measured 42mm myself but I am wondering if I mount a M42-to-K adapter (which I am yet to buy) could I end-up damaging the mirror or something?
Thanks.

I have this lens. This lens along with its li' bigger bro 200mm f4 has interchangable mount. You can use exacta or M42 mount and may be others too.
The picture you have shown is here is without any mount (as written too).
Best is, to go ahead and buy Pentacon ot Meyer 200mm f4 lens with m42 mount. You will be able to use both lens with one mount. (thats what I did.. I got Pentacon 135mm f2.8 in exacta mount for $15-20 and 200/4 for $25... less than $50, I have both.. but frankly, I am more of Takumar guy now.... Because of 10+ blades, you can get circular bokeh from these lenses.. I am not sure, whether i like those or not) )

This is a pentacon 200mm lens with M42 mount,

This seller always has this particular lens... I dont know, how many he has.. or may be, no one is buying...

Thanks all. I just ordered a screwmount-to-Pentax K adapter and I can't wait to see what this lens is capable of. Hope to find some time and post some shots taken with it.

Yesterday I received the m42-to-pentax K adapter and found out that the lens does not have a m42 thread. It seems to be more like 58mm. Apparently, I checked the wrong marking on the caliper.
I believe the lens would need a m42 mount similar to the detachable one I have for Praktica. Does anyone know if such thing exists anywhere?
Thanks.

That what I said...
These threads need a mount... You can get either M42 or Exacta mounts... Those mounts are rare... best is, go ahead.. buy 200mm f4 Pentacon/Meyer lens with M42 mount... you can re-use the mount easily (thats what I am doing)...
Still I will keep looking adapter mount in between..

They exist, although you can usually find them ... attached to lenses ;-) ...
What you need is the cone portion you can see in my picture with the ring marked with three red '*' on the bottom of the lens
(i know it is a Meyer Orestor, but it is the same lens as yours, only rebranded).

Try to find a broken Pentacon/Meyer 135, even with a giant fungus, and unscrew the rear portion to get the mount you need.
Hope this helps
Best regards

Thanks for clarification, guys. The cone is the part I need. I will watch for one of those lenses.
